Yachting and Cruising could involve a trip to the other side of the bay or across the oceans to the islands of the South Pacific.
Safe cruising across long distances requires a degree of self sufficiency and a wide range of skills beyond handling the boat.
Knowledge of navigation, meteorology, mechanical and electrical systems, radio, first aid, sea survival, nutrition
and more are needed and can be life saving when cruising to distant shores.
Sailing in Greece
The Aegean and Ionian Seas are popular for safe and easy cruising.
Most of the sailing is in sheltered waters between the islands and mainland coast.
Distances between the Ionian islands are rarely more than a few miles.
You can sail as little or as far as you wish each day whilst the variety of scenery
makes interesting exploring for adults and children alike.
Winter rains keep the islands fresh and green but between late April and early October
there is very little rainfall and almost constant sunshine. The sea is warm, crystal clear and unpolluted.
